TGI Fridays, the global leader in casual dining, has introduced their new Hangover Brunch menu, which features a wide variety of drink options including non-alcoholic and alcoholic options depending on what you’re looking for when you’re out on weekend together.

The new Super Foods menu features appetizers, entrees, desserts and of course, drinks, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic like the Breakfast Potato Skins or Breakfast tacos loaded with scrambled eggs. The Hangover burger is a sure cure of all the happy high feeling of last night’s adventures or you can try the Egg BLT Sandwich or Roasted Veg slides with Chimichurri sauce – to enjoy your brunch which is authentically American!

We were invited for this and here are some of the dishes we tried. Chocolate Milkshake, a humongous overload of thick shake made from chocolate ice cream. The way they make the thick shake is quite fascinating. They blend three scoops of chocolate ice cream and top the glass with whipped cream and some chocolate ganache.

Pomegranate juice in its pure form, a perfect detox. For all the health freaks,an ideal solution.

Ceaser Salad, TGIF is the only place in the world who can make me enjoy a vegetarian Ceaser salad. Perfectly dressed salad with a slice of multi grain bread. A must try for all the health freaks in town. Calamari Frites, golden fried calamari. Crisp from the outside and perfectly cooked from the inside. The crisp calamari was served with chilli mayo which complimented the dish and enhanced the flavour. Hangover Burger, this can not only cure your Sunday hangover but also you food craving for an entire month. The burger bun were smothered in butter, a perfectly cooked meat patty in the middle and a half fry egg on top. Enough said…… You need to try it out to fall in love with it. Brownies with Ice-cream, it does sound like a simple dessert but TGIF had made sure that it doesn’t remain that way. Three huge pieces of brownies topped with ice cream and covered with piping hot caramel sauce. My three favorite desserts in one place. What else can I ask? TGIF brunch in a new concept introduced by them as they allow you to order meals from the set brunch menu. The menu consists of their classic dishes and is a steal for the price they are offering it for. The brunch in a must visit for all the people waiting to visit TGIF. The Hangover Brunch is available on Saturday & Sunday from 12 noon to 3pm and comes with a choice of imported liquor also. For those who are looking to detox there is a choice of freshly squeezed juices and other amazing non-alcoholic drinks but if you want to still binge more, there’s a choice of regular package with IMFL and Imported drinks.

The Johnnie Walker Gourmet Experiences are here.

Johnnie Walker invited us to a first ever, one of a kind experience! Some delicious food was paired with the finest scotch whisky in the world.

The beautiful Evviva Sky Lounge was the venue for this.

The first course was served with Johnnie Walker Black Label which had a rich, complex and an incredibly well balanced flavor which went very well with Murgh Bhatti kebab and Chicken Ceaser Salad . The kebabs were delicious and tender and had a spicy taste . The Chicken Ceaser salad was spot on with succulent chicken pieces and some beautiful and fresh dressed salad.

The powerful, full bodied, smokey flavours of Johnnie Walker Double Black gave a good contrast to the pasta pomodoro sauce with chicken. The pasta was one of my favorites and was enjoyed with a slice of garlic bread.

The dessert was a match made in heaven. The In-house brownies were gooey and the rich chocolate sauce was just like a cherry on top.

The Red Label gave a spicy smoky flavor to brownies.

Overall it was an absolute hit and a great tasting experience.

Thanks to the Johnnie Walker team for this wonderful experience.

Special mention is a simple dish Dal Tadkewali, description of this dish won’t do any justice, you could visit Panayaa for this dish alone is all we can say.

Sabudana Papad Sev Puri , a dish which not only stunned our senses but also our taste buds. A very innovative way of serving sev puri and I never thought I would enjoy sabudana in sev puri but it was a fantastic dish.

Panayaa is introducing molecular gastronomy into the classic Indian dishes such as the Sabudana Papad Sev Puri and Khamad Dhokla Oxide and its a treat.

The winner of the day was the Chocolate Landscape , mud cake, brownie chunks and oodles of chocolate and sauces make this dessert a signature dish, this is a chocolate lover dream come true.

Overall if you are looking at some thing different and a real good dining experience, you can’t miss Panayaa.

Food Trails 1.0

We were recently invited to one of a kind Food Trails organised by Phoenix Market City and CarpeDiem.
We were supposed to pick up two chits, one consisted of the restaurant we had to dine in and the the other the secret ingredient which must be present in your dish.
I was extremely excited to attend this event.
The first chit I picked up was of Khiva Restaurant . The second chit mentioned corn as my ingredient. Corn is the ingredient with is very rarely used in mughlai cuisine which Khiva specialises in.
After a discussion with the Chef we came up with Makai Seekh Kabab for the contest .
I chose a very common dish and needed to make a few changes to it. So we decided to give it a twist and make it with khoya which is a dairy based product. The khoya gave a creamy texture to the kabab.   The kebab turned out so soft that it was melting of the skewers. After several attempts the chef was able to master it and it tasted fantastic . The kebabs were creamy and had a slight sweetness which was because of the khoya . It was a rich dish as there was a variety of ingredients used such as dried fruits, khoya and fresh corn. The dish was an absolute winner and so was Khiva for a making a complex dish look so easy and taste fantastic .

Bombay Brasserie was one of our very frequented restaurants some years back and then it closed its doors to Pune which left us disappointed and now its back with a bang, swanky interiors, a superb vibe, attentive and friendly staff, excellent beverages and delicious food makes it a blockbuster package.

We were invited for its launch and the limited time we spent there due to a prior commitment , we had a blast.

The beverages are served in quirky quarter bottles and are too potent and delicious . They have different combinations which are served with snacks which go well with it.

The mocktails are not very far behind and are amazingly delicious, specially the Kairi Panna which had a sour yet sweet taste.

The Andhra Chicken was a mouth-watering dish which had crispy fried chicken strips marinated in ground Andhra spices. The chicken was tossed in bell peppers and spices and it was a well presented and delicious dish.

DSC_1158~2

The peanut prawns were too good. The prawns were fresh and were perfectly seasoned. The peanut flavour was strong which is to our liking. The prawns were spicy and tasted perfect.

DSC_1159~2

The Seekh Kebab is a must have when you visit BB . It is served on a bed of a soft naan and the Seekh Kebab melts in your mouth. The Seekh Kebab is humongous and goes absolutely well with the hot naan.

DSC_1161~2

Mutton Galouti Kebab had a twist as it was served on a crisp roti. The kebab was delicious and too soft, it needed the support of the roti for digging it in. A must have.

DSC_1168~2

The desserts were unfortunately not tried by us as we left early but it seems they were up to the same mark as the food as had seen pictures of it on other social media accounts later.

Overall do not miss this place if you are looking for a good time with some good food to go.

Cake Mixing at Sheraton Grand Pune

No Christmas is complete without a big slice of a rich plum cake.

Nowadays most hotels are celebrating cake mixing as an event all across India.

Mohammad Mukhtiar from Food-Adda was at the Sheraton Grand, Pune for the cake mixing event.

The dried fruits were arranged in a tray and soaked in alcohol which would rest for a month’s time. The fruits are used during Christmas to make cakes and pudding.

After the event, the high tea was served which had an array of snacks such as chicken puffs and Quiche . The chocolate tart was fabulous and had a rich dark chocolate flavour to it.

Chef Roberto had made a special cassata cake for us which was the star of the event . The high tea was complimented with some refreshing Sangria and beverages.

Meeting people and taking part in this event was time well spent.

Looking forward to tasting it on Christmas.
